First, my absolute favorite room in the Met, The Temple of Dendur. The museum devotes an entire gallery, with majestic windows overlooking Central Park and a reflecting pool, to the temple, which dates back to 15 B.C. (I would love to attend a fancy event here. The party set here in Maid in Manhattan is my favorite in the movie. You've probably realized by now that I am a cheesy movie fan!)

I also love these beautiful windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Stately mid-19th century furniture:

This 1859 oil painting by American landscape artist, Frederic Edwin Church, is simply massive. Interesting fact - The painting's premiere attracted 12,000 New Yorkers who each paid 25 cents to view the painting in a specially lit gallery. That's me next to the painting - to give you a sense of scale I am 5'8" so this painting is HUGE!

John Singer Sargent is one of my favorite artists. His portraits are always so elegant and stunning. This portrait of the Wyndham sisters was painted in 1899 at their home in London.

Finally, wouldn't you just love to step right into this 1867 Monet painting?

p.s. More photos from my weekend tomorrow (I went a bit crazy with my camera!) along with a giveaway!!

What gorgeous photos, I love the Met! Have you read the sequel to Chocolate Lovers' Club? I just found out yesterday the sequel is Chocolate Lovers' Diet. I'm going to have to read that one too now!
