Well, at the time my mother purchased this black and white fabric our local fabric store was going out of business so she bought a few extra yards. I had seen a tutorial for making fabric wall art on the fantastic How About Orange blog a while ago, so I decided to make something similar for my mom with the extra fabric. The tutorial suggests making a frame yourself with interlocking wood strips from an art supply store. I, however, am lazy and last week the pre-stretched canvas was on sale at A.C. Moore so I just bought that in the 24" x 30" size. I stretched the fabric over it, staple gunned the back, screwed in a hook for hanging and . . .

and instant wall decor for my parents' upstairs hallway. The canvas is hanging over an antique, claw-footed "hope chest" that was my grandmother's so I think it makes a nice contrast of old versus new.
