I saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic" yesterday and really enjoyed it! I must admit that it wasn't as fabulous as the books were, but the movie did quite a good job of capturing Rebecca Bloomwood's character and consolidating it into a cohesive movie. There were a few things that were a bit disappointing, like Suze and Tarquin are such hilarious characters in the book series and I thought they fell sort of flat in the film. On the other hand, I kind of liked the Americanization of Rebecca's parents - Joan Cusack and John Goodman are always hilarious in any role. And Leslie Bibb was perfect as Alicia *** Longlegs :)
So, whether you've read the books or not I definitely recommend seeing this movie soon. It was funny and light, just the type of movie I think we all need when the news is constantly bombarding us with lousy real world events.
Did anyone else see it yet? What did you think?
p.s. Here is the link to Entertainment Weekly's review of the movie, they gave it an A-.

I am going to see it next weekend, and I am really looking forward to it. The books are laugh out loud funny.
So glad you came by my blog. Isn't Sea Island beautiful? I hope to post more pictures this coming week. Your blog is such fun. I'm having a great time reading your older post. I think I need to go to TJ's and make some earrings! Thanks for the instructions! Have a great V day!

See, I don't think I can see the movie.....I've read all of the books and it doesn't seem to be like them at all.....
Abigail: thanks for visiting, I love hearing from new people :)
We saw it this weekend. I thought the beginning was cute as can be and just as cute as the books but the end she became a reformed shopaholic... who wants to see a reformed shopaholic??? too real life and couldn't they have made her total debt and actions a little more outrageous like the book?
