Staying Motivated

This morning I set my alarm clock 10 minutes later to 6:10AM rather than 6:00 in the hopes that I could trick myself into believing that 10 more minutes of precious sleep would make all the difference in my day. (Despite the fact that it's Friday, I'll be up again early tomorrow to set-up at a craft fair at a nearby high school with my mother and then I'll be off to my friend's bridal shower. I signed up to display my jewelry and headbands and my mom's crocheted accessories before I knew that the shower was the same date - that type of "everything at once" seems to happen to me all the time!)

It's funny the games and mind-tricks that we play with ourselves to keep ourselves going and motivated. For me, it's my morning cup of tea and a quick glance at the frontpage of each section of the newspaper that gets me energized and calm for the day ahead.

What are your tricks for staying motivated and energized?

Honestly for me it is making lists. I am so much more productive and organized if I make lists to keep track of everything I need to do or buy. If not I end up spending hours on the computer or in front of the TV.

Exercise is the great energizer for me (and eating healthy). I have really slacked on both of these fronts over the past several months.

I start each "work" morning with a run, it helps me organize my mental to do list for the day and lets my pup burn some energy!

I'm with Sherrie. I have to make lists. I get up at 5:00 am and by noon I am worn out! Healthy snacks keep me energized.

Like Black, I find exercise gives me more energy rather than takes it away. If i start the day out with exercise, I find the day is a successful one!
