Dirty Dancing was a great show. The production really took advantage of technology to re-create scenes from the movie in a creative way - the scene where Johnny teaches Baby how to do lifts in the water actually appeared as though the actors were really swimming through the magic of special effects (the actors were behind a screen they put in front of the stage that created a water effect). Although to be honest, if they had simply made the audience stare at an empty stage for an hour and half before the famous last scene I think the audience would still have gone home happy! As soon as the Johnny walked briskly through the aisle, hopped on stage, and famously said "Nobody puts Baby in a corner," the crowd went absolutely WILD!

So glad you enjoyed the show! Sometimes the best feeling can be going into an old theater to see a play/musical/ballet, whatever! I love theaters, they are SO gorgeous.
Now I am even more jealous! How sad it is that I was reading your post, and I swear I teared up when you said:

I'm officially a loser. :) Glad to hear it was so fun though.
I would love to see Dirty Dancing! I just love going to the theater as well. It's one of my favorite things to do! So glad you enjoyed it.
GORGEOUS theatre! I soooo wish I would've seen a performance at one of the theatres when I was living in Boston for a month... I lived right across for the Shubert... sigh!
I ADORE Boston... I sooooooo NEED to get back there... I keep telling hubby to work there again on an assignment... sooooo far no luck... another sigh!
Glad I found your site... I will have to pop over for Boston fixes!
ENJOY!

I love The Opera House! I saw The Phantom of the Opera there a few years ago, and it's so amazing inside!
I love going to the theater. Dallas currently has a TERRIBLE venue, but come October that will change when the amazing new DCPA opens. I cannot wait!!
I actually loved this show too. I feel like I have this movie memorized and it was funny because I almost was upset when they modified the movie script. Isn't that funny! Glad you had a nice time and enjoyed your special seats.
You were only 2 blocks from my apartment! I love the opera house. it's gorgeous!
