I stopped into J Crew over the weekend and was happy to find that the polos were marked down to $14.99! Polos are a classic standby for me and my stash was looking haggard so I got 2 new ones. They had really cute ones in the outlet earlier this spring (with fun nautical graphics on the back of the collars), but for some reason the outlet polos don't fit me well at all. They are a slightly thinner material than the regular store version and they just hang limply on me.
I was actually in the mall over the weekend to get some new eye makeup and lipstick/gloss to wear for the two weddings I'm in this summer. I didn't have any luck though. I looked in Nordstrom a bit and although the salesperson was helpful - she wanted to match the eyeshadow colors exactly to the two dresses I was wearing without any consideration to what colors would actually look good with my eye color and skin tone. So I wasn't very impressed. I also think the matchy-matchy look is a bit old-fashioned, what do you think?

I'm with you - the matchy-matchy look is a little old-fashioned.
I was so excited to see the deal on polos at J. Crew too! I think sticking with make-up colors that work for you is always best!
I've picked up 3 polos @ J.Crew in the last 2 weeks...great deal!
As a former cosmetics consultant I must say NO to matching. I mean, if you're going all out and partying it up, sure! But if you want to be on the sophisticated side, let's avoid the matchy matchy. And the polos? Great deal!!
What a great deal! I usually go with what looks good on me first. Did you try Bobbi Brown? I tend to have good luck with them.
