This past month I discovered House Hunters International on HGTV and I have to say I can't get enough! If you're not familiar with it, the show's a spin-off of the HGTV series House Hunters, which follows buyer as they search for a house, condo, or vacation home. Each episode features three properties that the buyer is considering and then at the end they reveal which one the buyer(s) chose. I find the international version fascinating because you really get a sense of how people live in other countries (what things we Americans would consider a necessity are not elsewhere and vice versa). From the American couple looking for a vacation home in Panama to the Italian couple looking for a flat in Rome just steps from St. Peter's I am officially hooked!

I have watched this a few times. You are right that what we are used to in the US is not the same elsewhere. I am amazed at how small the places are, in the US it seems like the homes and apartments are getting so big. My house, built in the 70s is so tiny compared to new construction and I know it was average back then.
I loove this show too! It is so fun to see the other countries and cultures! Some of the places are just so gorgeous... especially when they are on the water! HGTV is one of the few reasons I need cable, that and AMC for Mad Men lately ;)
It's addicting isn't it?
I love House Hunters, but this sounds like it would be right up my ally! I will have to set the DVR!
I love that show too!
