Shop til we drop!

Tomorrow morning I'll be up early to head to New York City for a quick weekend shopping trip with my mother! Hopefully we'll arrive in the city by noon and then shop, shop, shop . . . then we'll head home around 4/5pm on Sunday.

I'll be getting materials to make more of these:

And my mom will be looking for things to make more of these (and yes, we know it's not winter - we're planning ahead for the fall craft fair season and the launch of own website!):

A lot of things can be found online, but I find that nothing beats shopping in person. A yarn color that can look gorgeous online can look terrible in person. And one of the stores in which I buy my headband supplies has a good website, but has SO much more in the store.

Here's a look at our shopping itinerary.
Saturday
- Garment district/Herald Square area for headband materials, beads, buttons, trims, and bargain jewelry
- Upper East Side for the J Crew Collection, Lilly Pulitzer, and to see Platinum Jewels in Bloom, a flower show in the Madison Avenue jewelry store windows to benefit the Central Park Conservancy.
- 5th Avenue for Henri Bendel, Saks, and the stores around Rockefeller Center
Sunday
- We'll start around SoHo Chinatown and work our way north, searching for bargains, stopping into a new yarn store, being nosy and taking a peak at NYC Housewife Jill Zarin's fabric store, visiting a denim sample sale, checking out the Hayden Harnett pop-up sale.

I think we are literally going to shop 'til we drop!! Full recap on Monday and Twitter updates over the weekend :)
