LONDON CALLING

I am planning a vacation to LONDON for September and need your help! Have you been? - Do you have favorite hotels, restaurants, attractions, or shops to recommend? Please share! I'd love to hear any advice you have to offer. I will be traveling with my parents - making us a group of three, so our travel agent has recommended the Ascott Mayfair London because they have one bedroom apartments that sleep three, but we haven't book anything yet as we are still mulling things over.

p.s. We are planning to stay for 8 nights so we'll be venturing outside the city for daytrips as well, so suggestions for places to visit outside the city are also welcome!

Happy Mother's Day!
My mother and I will be spending the day doing what we love best, shopping!!

UPDATE: After MUCH searching online today I came across the 51 Buckingham Gate, which is a Taj Hotel - any of you familiar with London who have heard of it? I have to say it looks really nice and is one of the few hotels that seems to offer accommodations for a group of 3.

Ohhhh girl, do I EVER have a list of places to see, shop, eat, drink, etc. I'll have to send them in email form! I'll try to do this after my exam on Tuesday! You'll have a blast. I'll be there all summer!

I love London and have tons of must see/dos but I'll confine myself to one. Go to Bath. It's an adorable town. Besides the Roman Baths are kind of cool.

I lived there and revisited last may. Here are the must dos:

Fortnum and Mason - better than Harrods, and the official food for the royal family

Hummingbird Bakery in South Kensington

Portabello Market on Saturday

In Notting Hill - Electric Cinema for bunch (get a reservation) if you want something a bit out of the ordinary

Windsor - a beautiful day trip - be sure to check the schedule for the changing of the guards - you can get closer there than buckingham palace.

Eat Thai! They have amazing restaurants everywhere!
